October 2006

A hat for IT/Techguy, using the same pattern as the hat I made for my nephew, Nicholas. It’s blue-gray with a folded cuff of knit 2, purl 1 ribbing showing on the outside. Even though I had to take out the crown of the hat and add a few inches of ribbing, the hat still took me probably less than a week to make. The yarn used is, not surprisingly to you regular readers, Falk Dalegarn. Note: Hat stand also functions as a cello!

A pair of gloves for Fall, using brown Falk Dalegarn wool. I experimented with a different way of starting the fingers. Instead of starting them all at the same point, I started the pinky first, then knitted a few rounds so that the other fingers are at a higher level. In this way, my gloves can be even more comfortable and custom-fit to my hands.
